i took my A4 in for service last saturday and when i dropped it off, i was talking to the guy about upgrading to an S4/S5 for a bit then headed home...they called me back a few hours later that the car was ready, so i go pick it up and what is (not coincidentally) parked right next to it, nothing other than a 2014 Sepang Blue Pearl S5 coupe that is their showroom S5...needless to say i ended up spending another hour their, i fell in love, and i have started campaigning for the fiancee to get on board with getting an S5...she's coming around...

I'm warming up to Sepang on the S5, although I think it looks a bit better on the RS 5 with its more aggressive front and fenders. That said, it'll be pretty hard for me to move on from my S5 when the time comes.

I thought it was quite pretty in person, maybe a little lighter than I'd prefer though...I've always had black cars but this one I could definitely see getting in Sepang with the dark titanium finish rims...who knows, if we end up getting one at some point, I wouldn't be surprised if we just stick with our usual black on black (not that i'd be complaining) but we'd have to tint the windows, this A4 has no tint and it drives me nuts for some reason

Sepang works best when combined with the Black Optics package and a good level of tint on the windows. Nogaro would be another good choice if you wanted dark, but that would be an Audi Exclusive color. If Estoril were still available on the 2015 S5, would you consider that over Sepang?

Ah, Estoril is a good call...I would definitely consider that...Nogaro is a nice shade but it's a little flat to me. but I can't say I've seen it in person (to my recollection)...truth be told, if the fiancee gets on board with the S5, there's a chance I may just let her choose the color, within reason

Yeah, it would be a good idea to let her have a say in the color... you never know, she might surprise you with a great choice ;)
I've seen (and did a quick photo shoot of) a Nogaro RS 5 and saw the Nogaro Special Edition S4 at Audi USA HQ. It works on some cars, but not quite every Audi. For me, Estoril works very well on the S4, RS 5 cabriolet and the S7. The only concern that I have is maintaining the Crystal effect, as it makes every tiny little thing stand out (due to the extra coats of clear).

I feel safe in letting her pick...she's like me in that she prefers dark on dark...I've generally liked Estoril, but I've only seen it on an S4 and S7 (in person) though i can't imagine it doesn't look great on S5...maintaining the finish is certainly a concern, but I feel like it's just something I'll have to deal with when the time comes, if that's the one
I will admit that she really likes the SQ5, and I do too, it's just more than we need (in terms of space anyway)...I feel like the S4 or S5 will be perfect for city living with 2-3 days of commuting and occasional trips to the 'burbs (our A4 is pretty ideal for it so how can the S4 or S5 not be, right?)

Due to the lack of full car shelter both at home and at work, I've had to give up on owning black or dark colored cars. I think Nogaro would be as dark of a blue that I would want to get on an Audi. The SQ5 is a nice crossover (but it's still a crossover).
Personally, I can't wait for Audi to bring over the A5/S5 Sportback to the US (that is, if the B9 version gets an a-okay by the Feds). It's no Avant, but I think it's the closest thing to one that we could get. If that's the case, then I might reconsider getting an S7 :)
